I have so many photos that I love from this session and couldn't resist sharing this of big brother's love for his new baby sister!
Autumn Family Photo Shoot at the Park!
It was glorious Autumn day and my client and I decided to meet at Albert Park Lake. I forgot that they still hadn't pulled down all the Grand Prix stands around the lake but I had a bit of a buzz driving on the track under the signs from the race. I've photographed my client's eldest son 4 years ago at 2 1/2 and since they've added another little boy to the family. It just so happened he's now 2 1/2 as well.
Forget to print your photos?
FORGET TO PRINT YOUR PHOTOS???
I’ve always loved photography going way back to using 35mm film. Remember when you were young and film was developed at the Chemist or local photo shop and how excited we were to pick up your photos and look at a printed photo? We couldn’t wait to put them in our photo albums and even now, how much we love looking back at our photos and the memories they share? The computer just doesn’t have the same effect. I believe photos you hold in your hands are so much more valuable than digital versions.
I’m just as bad, I keep telling myself that I must print my personal photos that are stuck on my hard drive on my computer. It’s so easy to think I must get around to it but the more you put off having them printed, they accumulate and it becomes a momentous task!
The digital age is here. The ability to share your photos with family all over the world is amazing. The scary part is that hard drives aren’t reliable and have parts that eventually fail, so what next? Technology is always changing and the devices that we use now will probably be redundant in years to come. Photographs gain value over time so it’s imperative that we print our photos now to make sure that we’ll have them to show for future generations.

I include prints in every package I offer. I’m all inclusive right now, so everyone gets digital photos on a USB drive, as well as 6 x 4” fine art archival prints of their selected photos. Archival paper is referred to as ‘Museum grade’, made of cotton and highly resistant to ageing and deterioration over time. Archival paper is acid free and lignin free, in other words the paper is less likely to yellow and deteriorate. Of course I also offer larger print sizes, fine art and coffee albums and mount boards all printed on archival photo paper.
Digital images are wonderful for sharing online but having a tangible print in a beautiful album is an heirloom to be handed down through the generations.
Just chillin' with my teddies!
Happiness......is remembering times like these.....

100 Day Celebration | Baby Lifestyle Photography Melbourne
I had the honour of photographing a little baby girl's "100 Day Celebration" called "Okuizome". This is to celebrate a baby's "first food" or "first eating" in Japan and to celebrate the new phase in a baby's life. It has beautiful sentiment behind the event and is a big feast for family and friends to celebrate. It has been celebrated for hundred's of years in Japan, during times when babies didn't always make it to 100 days old.
You're probably thinking that it's quite early to be introducing solids to a baby this young but relatives just pretend to feed the baby. The food prepared varies between different regions of Japan but the food that is presented to the baby usually includes a fish (with the head and tail still attached), rice, soup, and boiled vegetables. Each of these foods mean a different virtue such as the word for beans (mame) is similar to the word for loyalty/diligence and the word for red sea bream (a type of fish) is similar to a word for happiness (tai and mede-tai). A small pebble is given to the baby to bite, symbolizing strong teeth. I love the idea that eating a food could possibly portray a positive trait that your baby could have for the rest of their life!
Hmmmm, what positive trait could possibly go with chocolate - happiness, wisdom, serenity???
3 Month Old Baby Session
The three month baby session is my favourite. Those little expressions, those little squishy thighs, it makes you just melt! Izabela has the most beautiful blue eyes! Who could not fall in love this sweet little baby girl?!
My New Neighbours....
Welcome to our new neighbours across the street, not only to the neighbourhood but also their new little baby boy to their family.
It's Been a Wonderful Year
To all the precious newborns, babies, children, and families that I've photographed during 2014, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me and helping me do what I love so much. Cheers to 2015!

Dressed up for the occasion....the cutest little purple bow tie on the cutest little button!
It's a Small World!
It's a small world when you receive a booking and then realise when you ask for the family's address, that they live in the same street as me, oh my gosh?? On the day of the shoot we had the best time down at the local beach, playing sandcastles, kicking the ball, swinging off Mum & Dad and paddling in the water!
Time goes so fast ....
I just love watching them grow, watching them grow from newborn into little people and here's the most adorable little one at 10 months. Watch out Mum he's nearly walking.....
The cutest......
10 months, the cutest little button!
One More Makes Four!

Panton Hill Winery Visit
One of the perks of my job is meeting wonderful people! I photographed this family last year and since they've added a new addition to the family, congratulations! We travelled to the stunning Panton Hill Winery in the Yarra Valley as our backdrop as it's a favourite location for my client. Hope you enjoy your preview!
