Project 52 "Freelensing"

Freelensing is a relatively inexpensive way of getting the similarly unique effect of an expensive tilt-shift lens, where the focus plane is thrown out of whack with the added bonus of natural light leaks.  I'm just starting my "Freelensing" journey and it's quite hard to do but I love the effect.  If you would like to know more about how to achieve this effect, just ask!

Miracles do happen....

"Before you were conceived I wanted you. Before you were born I
loved you. Before you were here an hour I would die for you. This isthe miracle of life." (Maureen Hawkins)

When you decide it’s time to try to conceive a child it can be a rollercoaster of emotions.  Lot’s of disappointment and trying but hopefully you finally get there.  I know this as it happened to me.  My client not only has been through that rollercoaster but had a little miracle she thought would never happen.

Since she was a young girl, she dreamed of becoming a mother, meeting the right man and having a family of her own but when she was a teenager she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries and was told that she would never be able to conceive children.  Imagine being told that something you’ve always dreamed about would never happen to you.   Going months without a period and under the impression she would never conceive, what a miracle it was when her instinct told her that her body was changing and she might be pregnant.   Taking the test her instincts were right, she was pregnant!

The gynaecologist calculated that she only had a 2 day window in the year to possibly conceive.  I truly believe that when a little soul wants to get here, they’ll find a way and what a little miracle baby this is.

You can read more about her journey at www.theyoungmummy.wordpress.com.

Project 52 "Autumn Leaves"

I love this time of the year, the chill in the air, the colour of the Autumn leaves falling from the trees!  Toby's friend's family has the most beautiful Japanese Maple growing in their front yard.  Just have a look at the colour, magnifico!!

Project 52 "Action"

Well Toby had his first official soccer match last week. The poor thing, in the first half not only did he get hit by a ball in the face which gave him a blood nose, he got winded by a ball in the stomach, twisted his ankle and hurt his wrist on the way down! Here I was thinking that this football wouldn't be as aggressive as Aussie Rules! By the 2nd half he felt better to play and managed to score the first goal for the season! Thoughts of giving up, GONE and one very proud Mum!

Project 52 - Motion

Boys and their obsessions...in this case it's soccer, dirty feet, bruised knees and all!

Project 52 "Black & White"

Black & White tells the viewer the story straight away without the distraction of colour. It can be classic or bold, moody and dramatic and can conjure an emotion to the story that's being told!

An Exciting Time.....

The arrival of your first child is full of anticipation and wonder...wonder at what you'll be like as parents and how your lives will be changed forever.  This gorgeous couple will make beautiful parents as I know how much they've been waiting for this little bundle of joy!

It was Melbourne Cup Day.....

It was Melbourne Cup day, all were Cup bound but we ventured to the other side of town for me to photograph this gorgeous family.  Their Mum and Dad built a brilliant cubby for the littlies and spent a lot of time fixing up the backyard for the photo shoot.  We had a ball, playing shop, blowing bubbles, sliding down the slide, having cups of tea and riding the cutest, red motorbike.  Thank you for such an enjoyable morning.

Keep getting those rainy days!

The day started off with interim showers and I thought we would be fine for the afternoon photo shoot with this delightful family.  Uh, oh it was not going in our favour.....by the time I met with them it was raining, gust winds and very grey.  Oh well we went with the flow and ended up down the beach where there was a fantastic playground, pier and of course beach for the boys.  They didn't seem to mind the rain, playing in the sand and collecting shells.  Here's a small preview.....
