When my friend contacted me to let me know that a house was about to be demolished and there was a beautiful verandah with growing vine, I had to photograph it. I ventured down the street but didn’t know the house number but managed to find it and ask the demolishers if I could take some shots. They said that would be fine but I had to do it that night as the trucks were coming the following day to demolish this beautiful old family home. It’s such a shame that these old houses that contain so many memories are being demolished and of course their gardens as well.
My friend’s daughter and her friend we’re thrilled to have another fine art photo shoot even though there was dust and dirt everywhere and broken glass! We decided to go with a vintage theme and the girl’s had a ball trying on different outfits that I have collected over the years.
It does give you the importance of family photos too as you’ll never get back those moments again.
