It seems such a long time to wait but your baby has finally arrived. You’ve decided to go ahead and organise professional newborn photography but you’re unsure whether to have an in home lifestyle newborn photo shoot or a studio based newborn session.
All of your focus will be the comfort of your baby and sleep so preparing for a newborn photo shoot can seem quite daunting. As I photograph both lifestyle in home or studio newborn photography, I’m happy to go with whatever helps you have a stress free newborn session in those first few weeks of life. I thought I’d give you a few pointers as to why a studio newborn session might suit you better -
Benefits of a Studio Newborn Shoot
Warm and Cozy Studio
My studio is all set up for your newborn shoot. A clean and comfortable space where you can relax and enjoy the whole experience. One of the tricks that newborn photographers use is to have a warm and cozy studio for the comfort of your baby. Babies feel the cold more than we do, so heating the room to about 28 deg keeps your baby happy when we need to undress them.
Beautiful Natural Light
The studio has big windows that produce beautiful natural light and soft curtains to diffuse the light for perfect skin tones. There’s no need for me to investigate your home for good light as it’s all ready to go.
No Cleaning
No need to worry about having a clean house. When baby first comes home, you’ll want to focus purely on them and somehow get some sleep. The last thing you’ll want to do is worry about having a clean home for your newborn shoot. The studio is cleaned after every session and newborn wraps and blankets washed. This might be the biggest benefit of all.
A Neutral Space
The studio walls are white, the perfect backdrop for timeless and classic newborn photography. I use a large newborn posing bean bag with neutral coloured blankets for your baby’s comfort.
Access to a Client Wardrobe
When you’ve just given birth it can be hard to find something to wear. I have a selection of neutral coloured clothing for you to choose from, dresses and tops that flow over the baby belly. I also have a variety of newborn wraps for your baby. We can discuss together what colours you’d prefer to use that beautifully match the baby wraps and blankets with your outfit.
It Could be Your First Outing Since Baby Arrived
Those first few weeks you can be quite house bound. It’s always good to have a change of scenery, get dressed and out of the house.
This lovely couple have just welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the family and was photographed in my Highett studio. Congratulations, she’s beautiful!
