Recently I photographed a beautiful family who were determined to include their much-loved dog in their lifestyle family photography session down at the beach. Not long before their session he had been attacked by another dog while out on a walk leaving him with a serious leg injury. It was an incredibly difficult experience for the whole family and while he was recovering well, life had changed for all of them.
Having him included in their family photography session became about so much more than simply having him in a few photos. It was a way of celebrating his resilience, acknowledging everything they had been through together and documenting this chapter of their family's journey.
Watching all of the family gently cuddle him, seeing the love in every interaction, and capturing those quiet moments between them was incredibly special. These are the memories that become priceless over time.
