When planning a newborn photo shoot, prioritize safety and hire a reputable, specialized photographer. Ensure they practice safe posing, maintain a clean studio, and are transparent about health precautions. Always check their portfolio and discuss session details in advance. I photograph what’s called ‘Lifestyle Newborn Photography’ a very natural way of photographing your baby as it’s baby led. I want to capture all those emotions you have for the arrival of your newborn baby. A good idea to book in your newborn shoot is around the 2nd trimester (20 week) mark, but if you’ve forgotten, don’t worry as I’ll always try and make room for your shoot.
The beauty of ‘Lifestyle Photography’ is that it’s very natural, it’s who your baby is now so if your baby is a little older it doesn’t matter. Though, if you’re after the curled up, squishy newborn photos it’s best to photograph them within the first 10 days from birth as they’re more sleepy in those first few weeks and easier to manourvre into poses as they are in the womb. After that, they start to stretch out and spend more and more time awake. There’s no making your baby pose in unnatural poses that babies don’t do naturally. If you’re after the curled up newborn photos it’s best to book your shoot early to make sure I’ll have space when they arrive.
As the article explains above, I always practice newborn safety and are fully up to date with all baby immunisations.
If you’re ready to book go to my Contact Page and we’ll lock it all in for you.
