There is something incredibly special about photographing a family in their own home. In-home family photography is relaxed, natural and personal, allowing me to capture the little moments, connections and personalities that make each family unique.
This beautiful family is particularly special to me because I have had the privilege of photographing their journey from the very beginning. I photographed their first two children when they were just two months old, and now they have welcomed their beautiful third baby boy and I was lucky enough to photograph him at exactly the same age.
Being invited back to photograph another new addition to a family is one of the greatest compliments a photographer can receive. It means I get to see how much their family has changed and grown, while still capturing those familiar connections that make them who they are.
Natural Family Photography at Home
For me, family photography isn't about perfectly posed children or everyone looking at the camera. It's about capturing your family just as you are. At an in-home family photography session, we can photograph the children playing, cuddling their new baby brother, climbing onto the couch, reading stories or simply being together. These everyday moments may seem small now, but they become incredibly precious memories as your children grow.
I love working with natural light and keeping things simple. There is no need for a perfectly styled home, your home is where your family's story is unfolding and that's what makes it so meaningful.
Three Children, Three Stories
Photographing this family's third baby boy at two months old was particularly lovely because I could remember photographing his older siblings at the very same stage.
Every baby is different, even when they are growing up within the same family. Their expressions, personalities and little quirks are all unique, but there is also something beautiful about seeing the similarities between siblings and documenting those early connections as they begin to form.
While the focus may be on the new baby, I always make sure the older children are included too. After all, they are an important part of this new chapter.
Your Family Doesn't Stay This Little Forever
